Around the Precinct – 10 March 2022

Tuesday 8 March was International Women’s Day, an opportunity to celebrate the many and varied achievements of the women researchers and healthcare professionals on our precinct. It was also a chance to reflect on the work that is still to be done in ‘breaking the bias’ that women continue to face personally and professionally, with researchers from Monash’s Central Clinical School sharing their ideas for achieving gender equity.

This week, Alfred and Monash researchers also examined the role of early intervention in improving patient outcomes after traumatic brain injury, and researchers from the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine launched a new app that provides women with advice and tools to navigate early menopause.

Prof Wendy Brown - International Women's Day

On International Women’s Day, the precinct celebrated inspiring women researchers and clinicians like Professor Wendy Brown, Director of Surgery at The Alfred.
