Around the Precinct – 5 August 2021

With significant media attention this week on the vaccine rollout and Australia’s recovery plan, researchers from the Alfred Research Alliance continue to play important roles in managing the COVID-19 pandemic.

From testing and diagnosis in the Indo-Pacific region to studies into the effects of ‘long COVID’ on the heart, our diverse expertise is being utilised in many different ways to help the country through the next stage of this health crisis.

Elsewhere on the precinct, Alfred Health is marking National Stroke Week with a vital message about the importance of acting quickly to minimise the long-term damage of a stroke, and Monash welcomes the new Head of the Monash Centre for Occupational and Environmental Health.
