The Care(er) Factor panel discuss managing work and family responsibilities.

On Tuesday 12 November, the Alfred Research Alliance Gender Equity Initiative hosted “The Care(er) Factor: Balancing Work and Family in 2019”.

This seminar opened with a presentation by Dr Franca Ronchese, a leading immunologist from Wellington’s Malaghan Institute of Medical Research. Dr Ronchese spoke about managing career and caring responsibilities from the 1980s to now across the various places she has worked, from her home country of Italy to the USA, Switzerland and now New Zealand.

Afterwards, she was joined on stage by a panel of staff from across the Alfred Research Alliance:

The panel shared their own experiences of how they juggle work and family, and their tips for overcoming common challenges and finding work/life balance.
