This year’s NAIDOC Week was marked with a series of events across the precinct, celebrating the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

On Tuesday 9 July, Alfred Health and Alfred Research Alliance hosted a special NAIDOC 2019 presentation in the A+ Lecture Theatre.

Boon Wurrung elder N’Arweet Carolyn Briggs AM shared her insights into this year’s theme Voice. Treaty. Truth. Let’s work together, reflecting on the many contributions of Australia’s indigenous community over the years and the importance of working together for future generations.

Carolyn’s address was followed by an entertaining dance routine from Robbie and a moving yidaki (didgeridoo) performance.
