Alliance supports the Aboriginal Research Accord

In early 2026,  Alfred Research Alliance became a signatory to the marra ngarrgoo, marra goorri – the Victorian Aboriginal Health, Medical and Wellbeing Research Accord Project (VARAP).

VARAP is an important an innovative framework designed to guide and govern all health and wellbeing research impacting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people at the local level in Victoria.

Supporting VARAP reflects the Alliance’s strong commitment to working collaboratively to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people through research alongside focussing on health equity and closing the gap in healthcare outcomes. 

Being part of VARAP signals our commitment to listening, learning, and working alongside Aboriginal communities to create meaningful and lasting change.
