Blood Diseases & Cancer

We focus on four cancer types – melanoma, haematology, radiation oncology and medical oncology. Our cancer research and trials portfolio are one of the largest in the country, giving patients all over Victoria access to potentially life-saving treatments.

The Australian Centre for Blood Diseases's 18 research groups investigate blood cancers, thrombosis, and bleeding disorders. The ACBD’s research falls into three main areas:

  • Blood Cancers and Stem Cells
  • Thrombosis and Haemostasis
  • Clinical Trial Research
