Cardiologist and CVD researcher, Professor Karlheinz Peter heads the Baker Institute’s Atherothrombosis and Vascular Biology lab. They aim improve diagnosis and therapy of thrombotic and inflammatory diseases such as heart attack.

- The Monash University Department of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine (DEPM) is coordinating the ASPREE (ASPirin in Reducing Events in the Elderly) study. ASPREE is the largest primary prevention study ever undertaken in elderly Australians and will determine whether aspirin can help prevent or delay the onset of common age-related disease including cardiovascular disease.
